Elder Duane Etter, Church Administrator

Duane EtterThe short story of my life is that I was born and raised in a farming community in Iowa.  After graduating from high school in 1963 I did a tour in the Air Force were I was a computer operator.  Later I met my wife Dee, and went to college, graduating from Iowa State University with a degree in Business with a concentration in accounting.  I made a career as a Recruiter and Manager in the staffing industry, specializing in accountants & bookkeepers.

A tragedy in my life showed me the way God can be there when you need him, even when you don’t believe enough to ask.  He sent people to us from our church – people I didn’t know, but that didn’t stop them.  They knew God.

My walk with Jesus started in earnest when we attended St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Tucson, where I served as a Deacon, spent four years on the Personnel Committee, and regularly participated in the Thursday Morning men’s bible study.  Dee was also a Deacon and our children were part of the Sunday School.  Our daughter, Whitney, learned from Dave & Justine Collins.  As things changed we spent a few years “church hopping” till God let us know about Living Hope Community Church.  LHCC has allowed me to feel that my walk with Jesus is taking some steps forward.  I feel the fellowship and teaching sermons at LHCC give people a Christian community where they can learn God’s message in a comfortable supportive environment.
