(February) Connections Event
Saturday was windy, and let’s face it – Tucson doesn’t do windy very well! But despite the wind, dust storms, threat of rain, and a Wildcat game, we had a great turn-out for the February Connections Event: flag football. We met at Painted Sky Field at 2pm and pulled out the flags and football. The teams were divided (first girls against guys) and the game began. The problem was that most of the girls didn’t know how to play. So the teams were re-configured with a mixture of girls and guys on each time. After awhile, hunger got the better of us, so we stopped for snacks and drinks. Then the younger kids decided that it would be more fun to play “sharks & minnos”, and the older kids laughingly agreed. “Sharks & Minos” turned into “Snake” and after awhile we all had to quit because of our aching muscle. But that didn’t last long! The kids were off to the playground for a rousing game of “Hide & Seek Tag” which morphed into “Lava Monster”.
It was quite the event! Thanks to everyone who showed up and didn’t let the wind destroy our fun. Here are a few moments to share:
